From The Excess Issue
Exhibition Magazine continues to highlight a new generation of talents with this new digital series exploring our latest theme beyond the pages. For this inaugural edition, photographer Fiona Torre and stylist Yumna Mirza collaborate to present their unique interpretation of excess inspired by a poetic and intimate journey.
"This story retraces the steps of a nomadic feeling ; a longing for travel and connection with other horizons, while always searching for comfort through familiar textures and their memories. Through the lens of a near documentary type photography, this traveler is hoping to find a moment of tranquility in the memories of the fabrics. Time may move forward, but the clothes remain filled with past stories in which the protagonist finds peace. Inspired by an overwhelming play of volumes and textures, this story highlights the notion of excess with the creation of heavy silhouettes filled with dense memories, from a childhood household to the nomadic adulthood."
